I've seen many different video cards with an assortment of stock core clock and memory clock numbers and I was wondering what's good to look for. I mean, my geforce 6600GT has 500mhz core and 900mhz memory and I've seen 6800GTs that have core clocks in the 300s. So I'm just curious, what's better?

6800Gt has 16 pixel pipelines, the 6600 has 8 pixel pipelines... do some math (16*325) > (8*500) adn that calculation shows fill rate btw.. i dunnoh what units tho....

It's better compared to a lower value of the same spec, but of course there are other factors.

Pixel pipelines, for one. The 6600GT has half the pixel pipelines of the 6800GT; the higher clocks only make up for a bit of this fact.
