All semi's have a machined stop to make it one only. Remove that and you get full auto.. You have access to some nice machine tools though. Rifles get more complex when you look at 2-3 shot burst systems.. but that's pretty much it.

Yea, so?

Doing that is easy, doing it legally is not. :D

BTW, there is a legal full auto Glock you can buy, the Glock 18. Very expensive to get legally however...

I understand that NFA weapons are available..

You can legally own one (or several) with a Class 3.. no prob.. How to you think they get the bangity-bangs for the Movies? I knew an effects/weapons guy and got to shoot an Uzi full auto.. I didn't have ear protection but I figgured it would be my only chance so I did it.. I still have problems with my left ear now hehehe.. (It wasn't easy to hold on target I'll tell you, but once you kept it to 3-5 shot bursts it was awesome!)

I imagine that would put a smile on a handgun enthusiast's face. But other than the fun factor, why would you want such a low capacity, uncontrollable weapon?

Not if all it takes is machining off a stop. The question is, if you do this, can you still fire one bullet at a time?

What's pretty ridiculous is that the gun is pretty much useless as a weapon now, but the guy would spend several years behind bars for modifying his own equipment if he got caught.

Just another great idea for the morons with guns to do, make their guns full auto. Weak

Uh, it's a little more complicated that modifying the sear. Never heard of out of battery fire have ya?

There is no legal way for a civilian to own one, they were made after 1986. Only LEO/Mil/Class 2 and possibly 3 can have them.

And as said before, 99% of movie guns are just props, not real ones with blanks. Prop guns are 6mm, you wouldn't even be able to put a real round in it.

Well, there are certain models of Glocks that are manufactured for Law Enforcement use and are capable of fully-automatic (selective) fire as they come from the factory. The extended magazine used in the video clip was designed for such a weapon.
With respect to "civilian" Glocks, it's a fairly simple matter for a skilled machinist to become a felon by modifying the pistol to fire "full-auto". Usually what is required is a special modification to the upper receiver, so that the hammer (or, in the case of the Glock, the striker) is released just as the slide returns to battery and locks the breech. The timing is very critical -- if the round is fired too soon, the breech will not be locked and the gun will probably explode. Kids, don't try this at home... ;)
More details can be found in The Glock Exotic Weapons System.
