Clinton's fundraising summer pays off with $143M haul

The Democratic presidential nominee on Thursday announced an astonishing August fundraising haul of $143 million, her best of the campaign so far.

About $62 million of the total went to the Clinton campaign, and roughly $81 million was raised for the Democratic Party and state parties across the country through joint fundraising accounts, the Clinton campaign said in a statement.

And the party that won the Canadian election (the Liberal Party) of 2015 spent a total of $40 million dollars ( a party record) on the campaign. The Conservative Party (who came in at #2) spent the most at roughly $50 million over the 11 week campaign.

You guys might find this bit of info interesting:

"On average, Conservative candidates spent $90,665, outpacing the average $71,660 spent by Liberals. The average New Democrat candidate spent just $54,404 while the average Green spent a measly $12,642."
