Please provide info on where the previous SoS used private servers such as those you identified to store/transmit classified info.
They like to pretend that having a private email account on a public serving is exactly the same as having ALL one's traffic on one's private server.

It's pretty obvious she conducted sensitive business over her own email server.

She's disqualified from office.

Uh ok. What exactly makes you think government email is more secure than anyone else's email system?

lol - that's just the most fucked up logic.

So because burglars can get past locks means you should just leave your house unlocked, at all times, and just say fuck it. Just tell them your house is unlocked. Put a big sign on your front lawn "house unlocked". And then leave.

Because leaving your house unlocked, advertising it, and leaving, is the same thing as having a defeatable lock.

According to the Investor's Business Daily and TIPP poll, two thirds believe that Clinton "likely compromised national security by using an unsecured private email address while secretary of state".

"The poll found that 68% of the public is following the Clinton email scandal closely, including large majorities in every demographic and ideological group."

"A separate Quinnipiac survey recently asked people for the first word that comes to mind when they think of Clinton. The top three answers were "liar," "dishonest" and "untrustworthy."

Didn't some women say that things would be different if women ran the country?

Which just shows how trumped up scandals alter the public view of reality.

I believe it has also been shown that they were classified after being sent were they not? So which side are the shills? I haven't been paying attention.
From his own link:
[ ... ]
However, State Department spokesman Mark Toner stressed that the information was not marked classified at the time it was sent several years ago. He also said the decision to classify the information did not represent a determination that it should have been marked or handled that way back then.

"That certainly does not speak to whether it was classified at the time it was sent, or forwarded, or received," Toner said during the daily State Department briefing Monday afternoon, before the release. "We stand by our contention that the information we’ve upgraded was not marked classified at the time it was sent." ...
It's also telling that out of ~50 paragraphs in that long article, the only thing he noted was that one line.

But once again, let the FBI do their investigation and determine if laws were broken.

How does something go from not confidential to confidential? That makes no sense. It's either confidential from the start (IE: This should not be shared outside of it's intended receivers) or not at all.

You can't say "You can share this information with anyone" and then retract to "You can't share this information with anyone". It's either confidential or not. What a toolbag.

Hopefully this is her complete downfall, and anyone that doesn't understand the importance of confidential emails is retarded to boot.

As someone that works with countless clients - I often have the clients set us up emails under their domain as part of doing work for them. Do you think I can freely forward those emails to my gmail - or even MY employer email? Fuck no I can't, that is a major breach of security.

My wife works for the government as well, if she was doing this she would have boot up her ass and kicked out. There is NO question that what was done is illegal. The fact that she is in the power position she is in that is holding back being canned is what just shows proof of what you can sweep under the rug as someone in power/money.

It's funny how many people in this thread are completely comfortable with the idea of a politically motivated criminal prosecution when no evidence of any crime exists.

American terrorist, on the battlefield shooting at and killing American soldiers, gets killed by drone strike: WURS DA DUE PROCESS!?!? WURS HIS TRIAL?!!?

American Liberal politician is accused of a crime: WURS TEH EXECUTION?!?! WUN ARE DEY GONNA FRY'EM!?!?

BONUS: American Conservative politician gets arrested via actions from his OWN political side (re: Texas' Rick Perry): IT'S A LIBERAL CONSPIRACY!!shift+1!!! HE IS BEING TARGETED BY OBAMA!!!shift+1!!!!,... wha, wha he do?

125 of the 7,000 released e-mails determined to be classified: http://www.politico.com/story/2015/08/clintonemail-batch4-213164

Continuing to prove the majority in this thread right, and the close-minded simpletons and shills with less and less bullshit to spew.

I believe the shills have been identified, Virge. You're one of them.

Classified after the fact does not mean classified at the time, no matter how desperately you want the two to be the same. If you want to understand the headset of security pinheads, this might be helpful-

http://fas.org/blogs/secrecy/2013/06/dod-classified/

Can't figure it out? Of course not, you silly man. You're emotionally committed to believing every bit of Hillary hate being spewed forth.

Simple. Before it was convenient to exercise complete control over the email trail, so they were not classified. Now it is convenient to not have the little people be able to see them, so they are classified. Course, this doesn't help her on the ones which originated from other agencies.

As far as being illegal, that's a bit iffy. There's an old saying: You don't law the law. As you note, these are the people in charge and they bend the rules as they wish. Hopefully though this does destroy her political viability once and for all.

Fun fact: Know what doesn't show up as official State Department correspondence? Discussions about appropriate donations to the Clinton Foundation.

Could you cite some examples of politically motivated criminal prosecutions when no evidence of any crime existed?

Okay. Since some of you appear to be stuck in some 3,000 B.C. state of thinking, just answer this question for me:

If it is possible that any e-mail run through the private server can be deemed classified in the future SPECIFICALLY due to the position she held for the government, is or is it not an accurate statement to say that she should never have done so to begin with, and should accept responsibility for this error and move on?

What most of you seem to fail to realize is my problem with Hillary is how she dealt with this. Had she simply said, "Shit, guys.. I messed up. Got some bad advice from a resource. We're sorry, it was a mistake - we're going to take every step we can to correct it going forward and will cooperate with all relevant authorities to make this right" I would have IMMEDIATELY been on the praise Hillary bandwagon due to her integrity.

My problem with Hillary is the lies, scandal, and lack of accountability. This e-mail scenario is simply a palpable method to convey my frustration to others. By trying to dodge this entire thing she's just drawing more attention to herself in a negative way, and this speaks to me for her character and integrity - and also makes anyone with a brain question what else she's trying to get away with.. especially now that it's come to light that various people associated with the Clintons are being found in a state that demands a body bag, including a MI6 operative who was allegedly in possession of e-mails from Hillary's server that may or may not have been compromised by a foreign spy agency. Sure, a lot of speculation there but given how she's acted does it really seem that far from a possibility?

They are only "trumped up" if you're an idiot who believes the tripe hildabeast and her minions keep parroting.

The Will to Believe is strong in this one.

Fear, hatred & envy are like that, often becoming all consuming, blotting out reason entirely.

That's how the right wing has been led to believe in all sorts of falsity & conspiracy theory. Having leaped to a series of conclusions their whole lives, they can't backtrack far enough to even see it for what it is, the power of propaganda.

I mean, anything negative that can be attached to anything Hillary ever did will be instantly believed simply because it reinforces existing hatred.

You're intellectually incapable of setting your emotions aside, a prerequisite for rational thinking, so it all dovetails into that bubble reality of truthiness so carefully cultivated by the mouthpieces of the Right.

Might want to check you attitude & your assumptions at the door if you want to look like something more than just another hater.

None exist. It has never happened.

What I've said several times now.

LMAO, yeah, you would've been singing her praises from the hilltops if only she'd kissed the ring.

Palpable is not really the right word there. You're looking for 'tangible' or 'concrete'. Also, should be 'example', not 'method'. The email scandal is a 'tangible example'.

The rest of what you wrote is batshit insane.
