From the few brief statements i just saw i felt more inspired then any of the speeches bush did. don't ask me why he just presented himself and what he had to say in a way that was sobering to say the least, i feel almost as if i could sleep now.

I saw it too. Say what you will, you have to admit that Clinton does know how to speak persuasively.

Of course he does, that's why he tried to convince the nation that...
1-he didn't inhale
2-he had no relationship with Monica Lewinski

But what have we learned from this all? He was a big liar....a good speaker, but a big liar...

Does anyone else wonder how Clinton would have handled this and what his televised speech to the nation would be like?

If you could have Clinton in office right now or Bush, which would you choose?

i think clinton would help the people feel better but i dunno about results of what to do about attackers.

edit: i think that both have there strong points and that clinton would help the grief my just his great public speaking butbush will prolly blow something up to make us all feel better, even if its just a bunch of beloved patriot tents.

edit: and do i hear a rep/dem flame war on the way?

Boy, that is a tough question. this is a test like none faced by a US president in the last 50yrs. Who would I like to have calling the shots. ...Abe Lincoln.~^ I don't know, Bush, Clinton are both modren politicans... cut from the same cloth. which would handle this situation the best is a hard one to call. How Bush reacts to this will make or break him as president in my mind.

It would be a tough test for any man to deal with, all we can do is wait and see.

LEt me get this straight, you want the guy who cut deffense and intel in office right now? The guy who's choices may have led to this whole event? I am not a Bush supporter but this is crazy. Over the next few weeks I am bound to see some more crazy stuff, but this....huh what a 24 hrs.

and

and bush is a bad speaker and a liar... What have we gained here?

A worse speaker and a smaller liar?

All depends of what you lie about, Clinton lied about his personal life, like anyone cares.

Yea, Clinton was and is a good public speaker but, he was somewhat lacking on the taking action side. IMHO

"and when it was he took care of what was necesarry"

Only if you count getting his willy waxed as taking "care of what was necesarry." Clinton shares a large portion of the blame by making huge cuts in our military and placing ridiculous restrictions and cuts on our intelligence agencies. He also did nothing about Bin Laden. The WTC is bombed in '93 and everything points to Bin Laden. Clinton does nothing. Two US Embassies are bombed overseas. All signs point to Bin Laden. Clinton does nothing. The USS Cole is attacked. All signs point to Bin Laden. Clinton does nothing.

However, news comes out about Lewinsky and cruise missles fly. Clinton is impeached and he bombs an asprin factory.

My disdain for Clinton has only gotten worse.

Can you say used car salesman? I thought you could. That's why alot of people loved him. He would tell you what you wanted to hear in a way you wanted to hear it, regardless of whether it was true or not. At least with Bush you can tell when he is lieing...Slick Willy on the other hand.

Someone have a link to the speech?

I cannot believe how many of you criticize Bush for being a bad public speaker. WHO THE HELL CARES!!!!!!!!!!!! He is a leader, not a speaker! You cant pass judgement on ones speaking ability. Look at the pope for god's sake(i'm not catholic) he is a very poor speaker of english, true is not from here, but he is still revered among many.

Monica and the countless others aside - credit where credit is due - he's a damn good speaker.

He's in Aus at the moment - Brisbane I believe... was his speech from there?
