Clinton calls terror a U.S. debt to past

<< Bill Clinton, the former president, said yesterday that terror has existed in America for hundreds of years and the nation is "paying a price today" for its past of slavery and for looking "the other way when a significant number of native Americans were dispossessed and killed." >>

<< "Here in the United States, we were founded as a nation that practiced slavery, and slaves quite frequently were killed even though they were innocent," said Mr. Clinton in a speech to nearly 1,000 students at Georgetown University's ornate Gaston Hall. >>

As a Native American. Bill Clinton does not speak for me.

I do not wish for innocent Americans to get killed for a debt.

My last ounce of respect for Clinton is gone.

Last time I checked, the price for slavery was Civil War. But hey, what do I know? Bubba's a lawyer.

BC, is a genius, I would never thought of that myself. LOL, would al gore had said the same thing? because they are friends? damnit Bill redneck you have shown your true color. He has failed to dispose of terrorist while he was in office and now is just sounding like religious freak who have to find some stupid reason for the 9-11 tragedy. I suppose if someone who is crazy enough like those terrorist? we're all to blame? hmm. he talks funy doesn't he? and even looks funny, amusing but this is no time for jokes.

Look at the Republicans hanging on his every word :) Give it up guys, he's not in office anymore, what the hell do you care what he says? If you read the WHOLE article and not just the snippets you included, you'd see that the point is reasonable, even if you bandwagon boys want to tear down a couple of poorly chosen sentences.
You guys need new hobbies :p

Okay hungrypete, don't feed us a line like your buddy BC here. You know damn well that for too long people have taken GW out of context to make him look like a complete and total idiot time and again. Forgive us if we see right through BC's African-American money and support pandering. If South Africa or Ethiopia had flown those planes into our towers in the name of retribution, that's one thing. If we had enslaved the people of Afghanistan over a 100 years ago and forced them to pick our cotton and tobacco leaves, that's another thing. Seems anything he says and does anymore is shameless pandering from the people he thinks still like him the most.

I guess if you are making 50000 dollars a speach, you better say what they want to hear.

Anyone has the transcript of that whole speech? It's hard to judge what the hell he is saying from half-statements.
I think Clinton should find himself something to do. Sitting at Chappaqua smoking pot with Jesse Jackson is not a good use of time.

OMG, a US politician admitting that terrorism is a reasonable/logical/natural route to take.

Why then didn't Gandhi, MLK resort to terrorism if it's such a natural reaction?

I'm not going to get all riled up about the content,

However it is humorous that he talks like a man that hasn't been president of the U.S. for 8 years, America should do this or that. Hello? You had your chance and you tried hillarycare, if these are the important issues why did you only realize them after you left office?

He's still working for the Democratic party, trying to firm up coalitions by preying on emotional topics , aligning himself with liberal and socialist factions in our society, preying on our guilt, encouraging racial and social divisiveness. I can't help but lose respect for someone when they're inflammatory and manipulative statements are used so selfishly and politically under the guise of a wise white man ex-president. He's stumping for his next run for the presidency. Who knows what he really believes but it would really be tragic if he ever was reelected. He is becoming a charlatan. If we are paying a debt for our past than the debt we are repaying is having that horse's ass in the White House in the first place.

I hear there's a group of Al Qaeda terrorists in the Phillipines that wouldn't mind holding him for ransom.

I don't think that's how he meant it, no one like terrorism, he is saying that America itself has been involved as the perpetrator in many cases of terrorism, either directly or indirectly, in the past. Just because we have supported terrorism doesn't mean it's right.

This coming from a person who believes that we are doing nothing but killing civilians in Afghanistan.
