Clint Eastwood vs John Wayne

Not a fair poll if you're asking a forum full of young'ns!

I've seen plenty of John Wayne movies (Big Jake, The Shootist just to name a few). I prefer Clint's stuff more though.

I really like them both but I prefer Clint because because I prefer Movies made over the last 30 years to ones made earlier. However the Duke was Awesome.

..both legends in their own time..but the presence of Jose Wales would scatter the orneriest reprobate.

John Wayne was always the man. Clint was the man but now is a pussy. Advantage - John Wayne.

As much as I love Clint Eastwood and think he is the man, he made The Bridges of Madison County which is a minus eleventy billion on the man scale. The Duke made 174 movies and was the man in all of them.

My point exactly. Also, while I haven't seen Million Dollar Baby I've heard that knocked a few points off also.

You wouldn't say that to William Munny's face.

I give the nod to Eastwood for playing a wider range of characters, even within the Western genre, but the times Wayne lived in didn't allow him as much opportunity to try different roles.

Vote: John Wayne

I have no idea who either of them really are (aside from being actors in Western movies) but in one of my favorite computer games, there's a marine you can hire who's psych report says he impersonates John Wayne, so he wins.
