NY Times guest essay detailing how scientists advocating for climate change awareness can fight back when defamed. It has taken a long time for the courts to come around. This is a short, good read. This link should get you beyond the paywall for 14 days, i.e. until Feb. 29, 2024:

Completely off topic but once you have push button start turning a key seems as old fashioned as rotary dial phones. When car hunting key start is almost a deal killer for my wife at this point.

Any new cars that even offer a traditional key, anymore?

According to the article it wasn't climate change denial that got the fellows in trouble, it was defamation. I'm ok with that, being an asshole should have consequences.

Why? Anyway, my car is 25 YO. I'm not gonna junk it because it has a key-turn ignition. What's the big deal?

From the OP article linked:

Clean energy solutions are readily available. But meaningful action in the United States, one of the world’s biggest carbon emitters, is in jeopardy of being blocked or slowed if a significant portion of the electorate does not accept the basic scientific facts and understand their implications. Voters should keep this in mind when they go to the polls later this year. With climate science still under attack and atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations increasing, we’re running out of time.
