I'm at a client's office, trying to repair the hotsync on the PDA...the problem is it won't transfer from outlook contacts like it used to. Say bob is in outlook contacts, when i hotsync, bob won't be on the pda. It's a Palm Vx Model. thx

cold reboot didn't work. :(

any other ideas what it could be. He said it's been working for years, and just recently stopped working.

Pocket Mirror installed?
Settings configured to sync contacts?
PDA reset to default settings?
Log generating any errors?

yes, it's configured to sync contacts..it syncs them from the pda software installed on the computer, but doesn't sync with the outlook contacts...from what i told it used to scan contacts from outlook, load the onto the pda software, and then once hotsynced, contacts would get transfered onto the pda

Have you tried deleting the file that is in Outlook under Pockemirror's folder? There should be like a note file there that shows the users name or connection name. Delete it and resync. It may ask to create a new account on the PC for syncronization afterwards.

configure the hotsync so that whatever contacts are on the computer to overwrite the contacts on the PDA (hopefully computer has all the contacts his PDA has and then some). Then change it back to sync. I've had that problem before when I used my Palm V. Let me know if that solves the problem.

On the CD there is a program called Conduits or something like that. This is what you are looking for to have compatibility between palm and outlook.

No, the conduits only recently became available with the later Tungsten models. Older models required middleware such as Chapura's PocketMirror.

Since this is posted in the wrong forum, my suggestion is to format.
