clicking sound is gone when surfing

I duno how it broke, but that clicking sound explorer makes when you go back, or click on a link has disappeared. I didnt think it was a big deal at first, but now its bothering the heck outta me. I think that I clicked a link and the page is loading, but its actually not :|. Can someone tell me how to fix this?
