Hi guys, hope someone can help me with that.

I Bought this house last year and it's an awsome house. I have this heat pump with AC and an electric heater. There are docks all around the house. No problem with AC during summer but I noticed something that is driving me crazy. It is now -3'c here outside and the heat pump generates heat down to -12'c until the electric heater takes the lead.

I noticed that when the heat pump starts, when hot air starts to flow, the dock in my bedroom on my bed side has a clicking sound for 5 to 10 minutes until it ahuts down. My girlfriend doesn't hear it but I have a very developped hearing sense so I hear it when I sleep even if it is not loud and it is driving me insane. It doesn't do it in the other docks.

What could it be, someone had a similar experience?

What is a dock? Is this a vent? Sounds like a metal vent heating and rubbing against something as it's expanding. Does it also do it after the heat shuts off?

I'm assuming you mean the vented openings (registers) that connect to the ductwork where the heated air is distributed into the home.

The clicking sound you hear, is likely the expansion of wood/metal as the hot air warms the surrounding materials. I used to hear this in my old 50's house where I had metal ductwork that had zero insulation. It was kind of annoying, but I got used to it pretty quickly when I stopped caring about it.
