Clicking notebook HD RECOVERY questions

The lappy wont boot but I am going to try putting it in an external enclosure and accessing it that way. I only need the pictures off of it so a short period of time is all I need. I can even freeze it, put it in the enclosure, then put the enclosure in the freezer if need be.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

There are lots of reasons why the lappy won't boot.

What does it do when you switch on?
Any error messages or beeps or anything?
Yes, you can get a 2.5" to 3.5" adaptor for your hdd to temporarily put into a desktop system for data recovery.
You don't need to freeze the hdd unless you know that the drive is the problem - otherwise you could make the problem worse.
Download and run http://download.seagate.com/seatools/registration.nsf/eula/desktop from your laptop if you can

try the utility just to make sure.
Might give some ideas.
Or you could be right, and you might not want to take the chance losing those valuable minutes that could be spent transferring data.
Hook it up.
