Weird-Click on any Windows System Icons and get "Web Page Unavailable" "Try Again" Work Offline"
Like Control Panel, My Computer ect.
Is this some kind of virus? Can I fix this?

Window XP Home
Also programs will just stop and close on their own.
Any Ideas before I Reinstall?

Thanks,
Norton 2003 is on the computer, but will not run. Having a hard time removing it. Once I get it removed I will install 2004 ver of NAV and see what I come up with.

Once you get Norton off, I would go with McAfee or AVG before I woudl go back to Norton.
Also get Search and Destroy and Adaware.

Do you mean when you double click on them you get these messages? Or when you single click on them?

What do you mean programs just close on you? Do you get any error messages at all? Do all programs do it or just some of them?

Stinger

Have someone download this program for you, and copy it to a floppy. It scans for 33 major viruses. It works very well for getting a start on a virus repair.

Thanks, I'll try this later today when I get home.
Update:
Well I did remove Norton System Works and AV. Any time I try to install NAV or McAfee the programs are terminated with no error messages.

Hey redbeard1,
Thanks for progy. Worked great. 64,940 infected files, 5 different viruses (Sobig was one of them) After that I was able to install a virus scan and the computer is running very good now. I wonder how this happen, since the computer had NAV 2003 with system works.
Thanks again

BTW:
Who has the best antivirus progy? I always had great luck with Norton. Had bad problems with McAfee back in 96-98 so haven't looked at them because of that. That "Stinger" progy worked like a champ.

A virus checker is only as good as its definitions file. Did you have the latest virus definitions for Norton 2003?
