Click and drop? What are you trying to click and drop?
copy pictures and files from many locations to another person I chat to online
drag dropping one window to another is very fast and convenient using menus and selecting one file by one is laborious and awquard after doing the other since win 95, win98 and win2000 Pro Xp may have had that altered in the slipstream update that I used to create an SP2+current files. maybe they ommited some files I use firefox so do not miss Internetexplorer which is gone, and if I want it I use windows explorer and type www.xxxxxxx.com when I want to surf with it.

so unless I want to begin with the 3 year old original copy of XP Pro then update it to SP1 Sp2 and all the updates, I am at a loss where to begin otherwise. Additionally I am unable to DCC send files on Mirc IRC but I did every tutorial that had steps to correct that and still have not that ability or drag and drop

what I mean is I corrected the router forwarding and the mirc settup as told, in order to handle this problem. But mine has gone un aided

If you use that 3 year old copy of XP you can download SP2 after you download a few patches. SP2 includes everything SP1 had.

I had the same issue in our test lab.

Problem is that you cannot drag/drop to network/remote drives. You can Copy/Paste, Command line copy, etc, but just not drag and drop. not sure if that fix will work, I did for me, as it was to one specific network.

Was about to post an FYI post too :)

I read and reread the links you posted. The similarity is in the freezups. My freezups are on my local computer, any window drag and drop to any other local window, regardless if on the same local hard drive or on a different hard drive or same hard drive same partition, different windos file copy or transfers with drag and drop. Your links speak of only when networking a remote computer with a local one windows drag dropping.

I tried reading the linc you posted and making sense of it, but it is over my head.
My big difficulty is with the link you posted and I reposted it as 'Try This link' LINK
I cannot understand if he meant to change the registry, or what is the logon script? I am on cable am always logged on.
what is
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Intern
t Settings\ZoneMap\Ranges
HKCU !@#$%#!! nothing like that in my registry, I am totally confused. Can anyone resolve this or translate it to something I can execute?

that is for local to remote drag/drop copies only, not for local to local problems, so this won't fix your issue. as far as HKCU, that's short for "H Key Current User"
