Hey all!

I am working on my resume again. Completely re-doing it.

In my experience section I am talking about a business i have run for the past 7 years. A pressure washing business. What should I put under my position for the business.

Should I just put: sole proprietor?

Or should I list all the duties I had?

Ideas?

Maybe you can tell us a little more about your business and where the resume is going (if anywhere specifically) so we can help you out.

I ran my own pressure washing business specializing in decks and houses. 90% of my business was stripping/cleaning and then sealing of decks.

I am going to have two resumes, one for tech companies and another that will be used to hopefully acquire some sort of sales job.

What do you think?

Business offered depainting of small animals, boat floating, groundhog euthanasia . . ..

Not leaving. Great business, but for me it has been a summer job. I am graduating and do not wish to pursue it full time right now.

I actually had a resume counselor tell me that putting an ongoing commitment to a privately owned company is a conflict of interest and some employers look down on that. Her reasoning was that you might still dedicate some time to it, even while at their job. Make sure you show an end date if you do add it..
