He is a great pitcher and has the stuff but $12 million for the remainder of the season? He is only going to appear in about 5-6 games a month and will make $3.7 million in those games.

I'm sure the market indicates he deserves that money ...
 
if he kicks his teammates' asses and gets them back into the post-season i'm sure uncle drayton will be making that much back.

I'm not sure of that. I think he just wants a shot at winning, regardless of the cost.
