Cleartype makes my text green

Just gota new Viewsonic VA1912wb. Without cleartype, some text is almost unreadable (like the text used in threads here). With Cleartype, text is much more readable but it's green. Anybody know a way to fix this?

Also, there is a tinge of red to some of the letters also. It almost looks like a convergence problem. 🙁

Have you tried checking the color settings on the monitor? If not, try setting it to factory default or try playing around with the color profiles.

i wonder if it might be due to the RGB vs. BGR pixel arrangement issue. Use the cleartype tuner link above and in one of the steps, it will have you choose the one that looks better for your monitor (most people will have RGB but, in the case of BGR it may look like what you describe unless you choose the correct one).

Is this an LCD? If so, it's not a convergence issue-- it's probably what HN described above.

In any case, text without ClearType shouldn't be all that bad, unless you aren't running at your LCD screen's native resolution.

If you still get green fringes using Clear Type, I would try using your screen's native resolution first, while adjusting your DPI setting up (usually in the advanced settings in your display control panel applet) so that your icons and text are still a decent size.

yeah if you ain't running this monitor in native res(1440x900) I would. I got the same monitor and can see text perfectly good and I have poor eye and no glasses. Display/Text looks like crap at any other res IMO on any monitor that isn't ran in it's native.
