ClearType for Win2k?

i recently got a LCD monitor for a win2k box and i'm wondering if the winxp ClearType feature is available in any way for win2k? i don't want to upgrade... thanks for any help.

Nope, XP only I'm afraid. For what it's worth, it's definately worth the upgrade (IMHO). I haven't run W2K since the early XP beta's and am just fine with that 😉

Actually I'm not all that impressed with it. I've tried it on my LCDs and wound up turing it off. It makes the text that was razor sharp, kind of fuzzy.

If you want to see what it does on Win2K, open Acrobat Reader (assuming you have it installed) and go to 'preferences' - 'display' - click 'use CoolType' (that's what Adobe calls their ClearType!) and see for yourself if WinXp is really worth the troubles to get ClearType.
