I screwed up my processor recently by accidentally making it's voltage to low for it run and also making the multipier higher as well(socket A). Needless to say, it won't boot. Therefore, I can't get back to the BIOS. Is clearing the CMOS the only way to fix it? If I do that, I migh screw up my HDD and I don't want that. Would erasing the pencil marks work? Wil anything else work? thanks for any replys.

Take out the battery for awhile (or, some MBs have a jumper that will clear the CMOS), and that will restore the BIOS defaults. If HD detect was set at Auto, you'll have no problem. If HD was configured manually, you'll have to enter the same settings.

He should have the Clear CMOS jumper, can't remember how long ago motherboards weren't made with one.
