Clearing Out my Hard Drive

So I intend to sell my laptop, but I've completely forgotten which are the programs that will "shred" my hard drive. I doubt it's the right term because I wasn't getting any hits on my searches, but what I mean is making it as difficult as possible to bring anything back after I format it. There is nothing sensetive on it, just don't want a potential buyer looking at my files.

Oh, its a NTFS, XP machine...if that's important.

Thanks in advance

No, what I'm looking for is something that basically keeps people from using recovery software. I remember using some product a few years ago that would write new data over the old one thereby making it very difficult to recover. But again I don't remember the name of the software, and at least that version was meant to delete files, not format a drive.
