Ok, the procedure I read in order to clear the 360's cache is the following. Please correct any errors:

1. Go to the Xbox Dashboard, select the System Blade, and select Memory.
2. Highlight the HD symbol and press Y.
3. Press X, X, Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X, X.

This is what I read in regards to what clearing the cache actually does and doesn't do:

1. Will clear out the temporary copies of achievements and gamertiles on Memory Units or Hard Drives (note these get re-downloaded when re-connected to Xbox Live)
2. Will clear out Game Updates stored on Memory Units or Hard Drives. (note these will get re-downloaded when launching that Game while connected to Xbox Live)
3. Will not clear out system updates.
4. Will not clear out the game areas of the hard drive where game titles cache their own information

What I want to know from you guys is what else (if anything) clearing the cache will do. In particular, I would like to know how it will effect my 360's configuration settings. Will I still be able to access my videos, music, and pictures that are on my PC wirelessly as if the cache wasn't cleared or will I have to set something up again? Will simply connecting to XBL redownload everything that I will be losing in the cache or will I have to insert each game individually for XBL to realize that a download must take place? I'll take any additional information you can throw at me.

I'm not really sure what specifically it removes, but I've heard that it can delete patches for games that were downloaded.
I guess my first question though is, why would you clear your cache in the first place? The only game I've heard about having cache issues was Oblivion.

My profile has been taking an unusually long time to load and I read in another thread that clearing the cache might resolve the issue. Given that I haven't been told any other reasons for why this problem might be occurring or other possible solutions I figured I had nothing to lose by giving this a try.

Hmm...will this get rid of those 0 achievement points listings for XBLA demos that somehow got stuck there?
