Clearing a comcast/motorola cable box

I've got a Motorola DVR cablebox. We had Time Warner, and our area was just "bought" by Comcast. So yesterday our box downloaded the Comcast guide and whatnot. We were warned that all of our DVR recordings would be lost. Ok, no big deal. However, when it happened, it didn't actually delete them off the hard drive. So now we've got a message in the middle of the screen that says "your dvr is full, erase some", that won't go away until you erase, but because its now the Comcast guide, the listing is empty.

Any ideas on how to actually clear this out? We tried unplugging it/plugging it back in (this worked when we had a similar problem when it was Time Warner)

Personally I'd just exchange the box if it is convenient for you..though I don't know how else to solve your problem.

good luck getting tech support to help you with that one, they can be really stupid sometimes

If anyone was curious, because I'm sure you are, press "power, select, replay, list, list, list, live, power" to reset your box.
