clear "X" piece of plastic that comes with the slk-900?

mine didnt come with one. is it ok if i take a very thin piece of cardboard and use that instead? of course ill cut it in the middle.
 
Yeah that would work,the only reason its there is to keep that metal backing plate from touching the motherboard.
 
Didn't get one on my SLK-900U either. I think the plastic was an earlier design.
