I was thinking of getting a clear acrylic pc case. I have read some negative feedback about acrylic case ? no electromagnetic shielding, not easy to assemble, cooling etc. Has anyone has experience with these cases? Are these concerns important enough for me to get a conventional aluminum case? This computer is intended for basic use ? i.e. applications and gaming. I will not be doing any extreme over clocking .

They are pretty cool, but they are a lot different from regular cases. A bit of assembly involved.. easy to scratch/damage.. not very mobile, etc. They are really cool if you are going to add lots of mods, or lights, and want to show them off.

But too bad drives don't come with clear bezels. That would make it look better. It would look weird having a clear case and then coloured drives in it.

ASAIK the biggest downside to these cases is dust.
Ever had an acrylic window? Cleaning these cases has to be a pain, and I bet reaching places inside to clean is a nightmare.

just wear gloves when you install anything. <ponders how annoying a fingerprint would be on the inside of the case>. ugh. if done correctly and well, clear cases are the shiz-niz of cases, but very hard to do and hard to up keep. :(

P.S. a local store is geting some of these in, and the salesmen is braggin about how its got 5 spots for case fans. what he doesn't mention is if it doesn't have 5 case fans, the will overheat very easily. :-/
