You know those clear CD's at the bottom of CD spindles, are those possible to burn with a reflective label? I was looking at them and noticed the coating, and was just thinking....

I doubt it would, but would be a neat idea.

Hehe, just an idea. I didnt think they could be written, as in there are no layers. Would be neat though

clear cd's would defeat the entire process of using a laser to read reflective pits!

What would be sweet is to utilize a coating that was reflective to microwaves but not normal light and use a MASER instead of a LASER to read/write to a CDR. Probably would be expensive though...

some company is developing clear cd-sized discs that hold like so many terabytes or something. :Q

I have a Clear Real CD.... I made a really nice compilation of music... then burnt it, and then made a nice label for it.

I put the label on, and it was a teeny bit crooked, so I pulled it off to re-postion it. It took off everything! I was left with a completly clear piece of useless plastic.
