BTW, my CRTs manual says: Use a lint-free, non-abrasive cloth and a
non-alcohol, neutral, non-abrasive cleaning solution or glass cleaner to
minimize dust.

I find dunking the monitor in a bale of water renders the monitor useless. That's just me though.

Most recent CRT's and LCD's have an anti glare and anti static coating. Using an abrasive cloth can and will scratch even uncoated glass so that's not good to use on an LCD/CRT. Using an abrasive cleaning solution will strip the coatings off the LCD/CRT screen.
Microfiber cloth, works great for removing dust and even fingerprints from people who don't realize I don't want their greasy hands touching my monitor.
