Cleaning up wires/cables?

Any good tutorials, etc on cleaning up HT cabling? I have about 8 devices in an el cheapo AV rack. So, as you might think, i have a ton of cables. The cheap AV rack has no cable management built in. I have thought about getting some wire loom but it would have to be huge, I would imagine, as most of the wires have alot of slack. I have trimmed the speaker wires to a reasonable length so I can pull the rack out from time to time and sweep behind it. But for the HDMI, component, audio, and power cords I really can't get them any shorter.

Tie wraps or zip ties are probably the easiest way and it is cheap and flexible. You don't want to do something like loom because it is a pain to work with if you have to change a connection.

Are you talking about just the wiring behind stand, or from the stand up to the tv?

For behind the rack, I'd just try to either zip or velcro tie as many wires together.
To go from the tv to the rack, maybe some plastic channel to cover it up.

Yes, just the AV rack itself. Forgot to mention it sits catty (sp?) corner but it's really a standard AV rack. So, I can't really do much with a plastic channel. I have some of those velcro zip ties and considered it but thought that it wouldn't make much difference. IOW it would still be a massive amount of wires but now they would just be a few bunched together here and there and most would be dangling in the air.

I was hoping to find something to hide them in somehow but I don't think that can be accomplished without a new rack.

Anyone got any good before and after pics of wire management?
