Cleaning up Windows!

Hey all,

Now in order to keep my machine running healthy i do the following every 3rd day or so.

1. Sort out all the junk on my desktop.

2. Run an Antivirus check, with AVG.

3. Run a Spyware Scan, with Lavasoft Ad-aware.

4. Clean up my Registery, with registery mechanic.

5. Do a boot-time defrag, with Diskeeper. (Puts all the folders together)

6. Do a Defrag with Diskeeper.

THATS IT! 😉

Please add, useful programs that you use to 'clean up', 'fix', or 'speed up' Windows!

In no particular order or schedule:

1) Antivirius check using Antivir
2) Spyware scans using Ad-aware, Spybot, and MS AntiSpyware -- install latest Spyware protection using SpywareBlaster
3) Clean the registry using RegscrubXP, Regcleaner, jv16 Power Tools
4) Selective defrag of partitions/drives using Diskeeper Lite

And the best part is every bit of the software is free. 🙂

Nah, I know many here who do pretty much the exact thing as you and I. It's just this topic has been discussed several times in one form or the other. 🙂
