cleaning up the clutter

I have my puter all built. and have a ton of left over plugs what would be wrong with opening up my power supply and just cutting off the wires I don't need... and puttin on wire nuts.. any one see any thing going bad with that idea?

I'd leave them. You might want to use the power supply on another computer or you might add a new piece of hardware.
 
I say leave them also. Get yourself some small zip ties and some electrical tape or something, bundle up the unused cables together and just tape them to the top of the case. That will get them out of the way at least. It's inside your computer case anyways, not like you're having to look at them all the time anyways.
 
Keep in mind if you cut them, you void the PSU warranty.

Tie them together with nylon ties. I usually hide them above or behind the PSU (if there's a void space) or above the top 5 1/4 bay.
