Cleaning the shiny areas on a IBM T41

Ive had mine a few days now and i LOVE it... Only thing is (as others of noted), the black area around the keyboard, touchpad, and volume buttons seems to pick up oil very easily and becomes a tad shiny....

What do you reccomend to clean this?

these machines are awesome, i'm typing on one right now... i'm bumpin' this becaus i too am a new t41 owner, and like to know the best way to clean different parts of the lapto, like the magnesium panel behind the LCD, and the plastic palm rests, the rubber pointer stick, button.. etc... thanx

IBM recommends a mixture of 50/50 isopropyl alcohol
and a lint free cloth.
I have also used a sponge and a mixture of dishwashing liquid like joy,sunlight
dampen the sponge and use a little soap and clean the LCD and the top cover as well as keyboard and palmrest.

Also used stuff called OPTIX only available online through Mirachem.
Works really well and gets rid of all greasy fingerprints from the palmreast,keyboard and case
as well as the LCD.

Awesome, i think im gonna order that OPTIX stuff, not bad at $14 for three bottles shipped.....

Any good ideas on how to get the Centrino & XP sticker off?

they come off pretty easy
just kinda pick at the corner with your fingernail and then gently pull if theres is any sticky glue
a little soap and water or alcohol and water will get rid of it.
If you take them off fairly soon they wont leave marks
But the longer they sit there the more likely they will leave a mark

I have used it on the whole case and works really well.
Just use a lint free cloth like a 3m microfiber cloth.
