Cleaning the inside of your computer

How often do you clean it?
How do you clean it (ie. Canned air?)

Just curious on the frequency people do this. I leave my case open, and clean it once a month. I think I need to be doing it more, fan's are dusty

that brush can create static electricity inside your case so be warned!

I clean my systems once a month with compressed air and a vacume. I windex the window and plastics, and use Mean Green on the metal. I have a dog and three cats, so this is practicaly required. I also like to keep my cases and systems resale value a little higher. And nothing is worse than a dirty system with a case window.

I hear ya with the pets, i have a cat and Dog....

That Sk-6 gets clogged up every so often... 🙂

Frequency: every six months or so.
How I do it: I use a leaf blower. That's right, a big electric leaf blower. I take the case outside, open her up, and blast away. There's nothing that cleans out the fans and power supply so well and so quickly. Works great.

I use a shop vac in my driveway to blow the dust out. It's not too powerful but it works quite well. I probably do this once a year. Usually only when I upgrade.

have a 3.5 HP air compressor, and just blast away at 90 psi every 6 months or so. I disconnect everything and take the opened up case outside, so the dust doesn't kill me. (yes I know it could create static, but hasn't killed anything in 3 years on my six computers, and the 20 or so I have worked on in that time)
