isopropyl alcohol (90%+ pure) would be a lot better than a bottle of beer, mind. ;)

My cleaning gear is composed of 90% isopropyl rubbing alcohol and an air compressor. ;)

I rip of about a 7x7 piece of paper towel and fold it a few times then put it over the bottle and tilt upside down for about a second or two depending on the paper thickness. But a qtip might work better for what you are cleaning. I use 91%Alc.

I find the little lint free wipes they sell for cleaning your glasses are the best cloth to use - absorbant and no flecks left behind.

depends how dirty it is and what it's dirty from, I guess. only problem I've ever had inside my computer was with dust, which I cleaned using either a q-tip (for tight areas) and a vacume (for fans and the case itself)
