I recently resurrected my NES 8bit from the basement and I was wondering if anyone new of a good way to clean the game cartridges. I was going to just use rubbing alcohol and a q-tip. Any ideas?? Thanks in advance

i don't think those cleaning kits worked.

NES was very tempermental about getting the proper angle for contact between the game and the console. the game genie fixed that pretty well though.

One of the best investments I ever made away at college was buying one of those 2nd-run "vertical load" NES's. The thing has never made me blow in it yet lol.

I never had any problems with my NES. I've seen on the internet people talking about the connectors getting rusty, but mine looks as good as the day I got it. I still have the box and all the manuals and stuff that it came with. :D

Yeah, thinking back, I wish I had kept all of that stuff too. I used to keep all the boxes, but my mom made me throw them away. :(

game genie just added that extra set of connectors so you'd have double the problem.
