Cleaning fabric couch/spot cleaning rugs in a pet household

Anyone have any advice on cleaning fabric couches and spot cleaning rugs? We have a small dog, and we would like to give our couches a bit more of a cleaning than a vacuum can do, particularly for getting some of the smells out, or if she vomits a little on a rug, etc... Overall use would probably be 2-4 times per year.

I've seen these Bissell machines on Amazon and places like Wirecutter recommended, but wondering if anyone has any experience with them: https://a.co/d/djt9IOO

Edit:
A point of clarification - we have a 1 bedroom apartment, only one room has a carpet, and the living room has a low pile area rug. We also only have one relatively standard sized couch.

For spot cleaning I haven't found anything that works better than Nature's Miracle. Have yet to find a cat induced stain that is can't get out with a treatment or two. We also have a Bissell and it's ok for larger areas.

Yeah, we have the Nature's Miracle spray for immediate incidents, but I also don't want to just spray the whole couch with it, because it doesn't quite get the general dog smell out.

We've has a small Bissell for years. It works well, and the suction works fine to remove 90% of the residual moisture. I have had to repair it twice over the years. We have the Little Green Pro Heat machine which may be different from your selection.

+1 for Nature's Miracle, especially for urine. One note of caution with it and cleaning machines; don't use a machine (at least the Bissells?) to suck it out of the fabric or carpet. Nature's Miracle will ruin the seals in the machine...I think it's the alcohol they use to suspends the enzymes. I ruined a Little Green that way. Maybe running some water through the machine right after would help flush it out and not cause the issues I had. Nature's Miracle should be used _before_ any kind of soap/cleaner is used on the spot. What I do anymore is treat the spot with it, dab up as much as I can with paper towels and let it dry to let the enzymes do their job. Then go after it with the machine and fabric/rug cleaners.

In addition to Nature's miracle, we've found that Bissell has some pet-specific solutions to use in their machines that work pretty well and won't harm the machine. Not as good on cat urine, but may be good enough for what you need for cleaning up the occasional mess from your dog (cat urine is on a different level than any dog mess IMHO).

Regarding the machine itself, we've had pretty good luck with the Little Green. Sometimes the solution reservior can leak, but not an issue if you store it empty, or take it off the machine and set it upside down; it's a gravity feed, so if the cap isn't on just right it can weep. The machine has pretty good suction, and doesn't take a lot of space. I haven't had other machines that I can compare it to, so can't really help there.
