OK.. So it seems that a lot of roaches are hanging out in my dishwasher.. I know that's gross but we've tried everything.. My guess is that there's a little storage net or something clogged with food in there - anyone know how to get to it?

Yeah, I know it's nasty... We've never had a roach problem until we got the dishwashed (brand new from sears) so we think it's directly linked to the sucker...

The roaches are inside the dishwasher itself?? This has got to be impossible. Dishwashers are sealed units - to prevent water from leaking. If you have roaches inside your dishwasher, you might not be closing it tight enough when it's not in use.

seems kinda odd to have roaches in your washing machine... but if you are seriously sure, then try running a load with a lot of bleach then let it run a few times to clear the bleach out of the system.

if that doesnt work, find a new place to live.

Most likely, they are not hanging out in the dishwasher. As was mentioned, they are sealed units. It is more likely that they are living under it or accessing the kitchen from that area. It is dark and there is probably some condensation from the unit.
There is a cover on the bottom of the unit. Most are held on by two screws. Remove the cover, clean out the area the best you can and spread some boric acid under there. Be careful not to shock yourself or blow the fuse. The electrical connection is made there but should have a cover over it. Use the boric acid in other places you see the roaches too. Look for boric acid in products like Roach Pruf.
