Cleaning an LCD

I am at my wits end here guys. I have been trying to find a streak free solution to clean my LCD monitor. I have tried like everything: Diluted Alcohol, Eyeglass cleaner, water, glass cleaner. NOTHING works. Everything leaves behind streaks that are impossible to get off (mainly because nothing works).

Anyone have a solution??

Well, I just use some Windex, but if you're that vexxed Stoner Invisible Glass is an excellent glass cleaner. Usually found in the big auto stores. Nevermind what you're cleaning off the screen...

First off, don't clean a LCD when it is warm. That is where you will start getting streaks. Also when you do use a cleaner whether it is water or solution, have a dry clean lint free cotton cloth to immediately wipe off the excess cleaner from the LCD. Works like a charm for me.

I have a VS LCD and it speciically states to not use any cleaners on the screen, just use water and a soft cloth.

If plain is water is leaving streaks, then try some distilled water. There won't be any crap in the water to actuallly leave streaks.

I use the lintfree cloth that comes with the Apple cinema displays for my dell 2007fwp. Its basically the same material that you can buy at any eyeglass store to clean your glasses. That material works great and doesnt require any cleaner.

I will recommend what I have for years now, go to D.O.C and get their eyeglass cleaner. Stuff goes on and comes off quickly and streak free.

i just used alcohol. but i got this silverstone LCD cleaner. basically alcohol and some other chemicals to leave a streak free clean. then just use those micro-fiber clothes that you get with glasses. works like a charm.
