Cleaning Aluminum Bezel

Hey, my Tt Tsunami is getting finger prints that wont go away, or just some random marks that i cant wipe off with the enclosed cloth..

the book doesnt say anything about what types of cleaners you are allowed to use so i didnt do anything.. but anyone know anythign that could clean teh aluminum well without damaging?

Use Windex and a soft lint free cloth. Once clean and dry, give it several coats of good automotive wax. Buffing bertween coats. Sounds silly, but finger prints will clean off so easy that it's worth the effort. I've waxed both Lian Li's and the SkyHawk in silver. If the area to be waxed is black, buy wax ment for black cars as it won't cloud the surface. They sell it at Pep-Boys.

does the wax work on the skyhawks with the "brushed" aluminum finnish?

The cheap SkyHawk i bought from dealsonic for sister's build was clear coated. I did wax it.
All external surfaces. My Lian Li's are necked aluminum, just anodized w/o any dye for color.
So i washed the outside with mild soapy water and was suprised how much manufacturing dust was in the surface. The tub of water turned light gray. Then i rinsed with clear water, let sun dry, the gave it three coats of wax, buffing between coats. Still slick and shiny three+years later. No finger prints and EZ to dust.

Ppl have laughed at me for doing it but it works for me. My comp office is in the back of the garage and must be vacuumed every two weeks atleast. It just makes life easyer to do it one time well.

I would use Turtle Wax 2000. That stuff rules.
For pure aluminum, you can use almost anything. It's quite resistant to almost anything but mercury.

Be careful with wax and try it in an inconspicuous area first, as Wax can make fingerprints worse than ever- been there, done that, didn't learn- did it again, learned. It's not always bad but sometimes makes prints far more noticable.

On a brushed aluminum case, use a very soft cloth and mild detergent solution. If you have wear/scuff/etc marks that have bruised the aluminum brush pattern, there is no way to remove them short of refinishing the entire case. If the marks are only in a top clear-coat, sometimes enough rubbing with a soft cloth will help, but using harsher cloth or abrasives will tend to make it a different, more shiney finish in that small area and look bad.
