Cleaning a sticky laptop keyboard

Hey guys.

Darn woman spilled soda all over my laptop. It still works but the keys are hella sticky. It's an Acer Ultrabook. I'm considering trying to take it apart to see if I can get to and clean the keyboard. Unless there are companies that will do this for you?

Anyway I'm well versed in building desktop PC's and stuff, just obviously not laptops. I don't know if there are gonna be proprietary lock downs or whatever. Anyone ever do something like this with laptop?

You need to be very specific because Ultrabooks are very proprietary. Specify exactly what model of Acer Ultrabook, and consider keyboard replacement as well. They are not designed to be taken apart. Since it still works, my guess is that it is not a mechanical keyboard, so you might be able to pop off keys, clean and replace.

This video gives an idea of the complexity of removing the keyboard:

This shows how to remove each key and replace it. This might be your best solution.
