how are you really supposed to do it?

the damn salesman at circuit city got me so paranoid about how fragile the screens are when he was trying to con me into buying the extended warranty (i told him to F off) i'm afraid to touch the thing now.
 
Use a clean, soft, lint-free cloth dampened with plain water. Or use a purpose-made laptop screen cleaning cloth, like 3M or others make. I use a cloth and water, that's what IBM recommends.
