cleaning a CRT

Ive recieved many different answers when asking how to clean the screen of a CRT monitor. My screen has many finger prints that wont come off using a dry cloth. Can you use isopropyl alcohol? or will that damage it?

Because my glasses have an anti-glare coating, I just use my eyeglass cleaning kit. There is a liquid solution similar to water with a little bit of dawn dish soap in it, and a nice soft cloth.

How about Windex and paper towels. Been using it for years now. I have a big screen TV, so I know when you can and cannot use windex. CRT screens aren't acrylic.

Yes but Windex will remove the AntiGlare coating from some screens.

Ahhhh, I see. I have not heard of that. My monitor's an old 19" Dell Trinitron P990 and doesn't have an anti-glare coating.
