Clean Windows install when installing new CPU and motherboard?

Just got an MSI 970 motherboard and an FX 6300, but I'm on the same version of windows that I had with my Phenom II x4 965 and M5A78L. Good idea to do a clean install or can I keep the same Windows installation? Thanks!
 
It's always nice to do a clean install, but wouldn't hurt to at least try the drive in the new system & see if it boots up and discovers any hardware changes.
