Clean my LCD Monitor

What can I use to clean my LCD monitor? I know stuff like windex wrecks it right? I have heard of "just use plain old water, that works best". Is that true?

I don't want to wreck a $400 monitor here.

EDIT: Reason is, it's dirty. Some people in my house don't know NOT to touch the DAM screen. It pisses me off. I got finger prints on my monitor and didn't even own it a week yet.
 
I just used a lint-free cloth and sprayed it with a little water, and they cleaned the screen.

EDIT: Spray the cloth, not the screen 🙂
