Just wiped my drive and installed XP w/ SP1. It's my first format since last October and damn it's so nice to have a clean and unmolested system :D

Oh well, now to load it up w/ all the basics so I can Ghost it :Q

Last time I tried a clean install, I got the BSOD about 20 seconds after inserting the #1 boot floppy.

Why don't you just boot off of the CD?

IIRC, I didnt have a bootable CD at the time. I think the instructor said some were bootable and some werent. If I was unlucky, I'd need the 4 floppies. Naturally, when it rains, it pours.

all normal win2k cds are bootable, your cd drom might not support el-torito but it would have to be really old.

i don't like clean installs, cause then i gotta spend hours upon hours installing my software and conifguring everything how I like it. And there's *always* something I forget to back up :|
