Clean install with Vista upgrade?

Hey there. I've been reading these forums for awhile, but this is my first post: That being said, I'm about to do a new build and am debating between the full retail version of Windows Vista home premium vs. the Vista Home Premium UPGRADE.
I have Windows XP, but I want to do a clean install of Vista onto my new harddrive. I've read here and elsewhere about the workaround with being able to use the upgrade CD to do a clean install by not putting in the CD key during the first install. My question is this: Has microsoft fixed this workaround so it won't work anymore? I have read that some people say that it still works while others say they tried to workaround and it didn't work anymore.

Any information would be appreciated! Thanks!

It still works. MS acknowledged the work around a while ago but also said they they aren't currently planning to change it.

Ok, thanks! Even though they mentioned that they aren't planning to fix it I hope they don't just throw it into SP1 or anything before I build my new rig. Doh!

Thanks again!
