Clean delete & re-install of DirectX?

Is there any way to do this?

I'm having problems, I ran DXDiag and it froze on the DirectDraw test.

My screensaver also freezes, because it is unable to draw the bouncing 3D Flower Box.

Please help, this is really frustrating me.

Direct x can not be removed....There may be some third party software cleaner that may attempt it I don't know...

Just try to reinstall it over the top...
 
I wasn't able to do it in win98se or in me...It isn't even listed in add/remove programs...

I still think and install over the top should suffice...if that doesn't help it may be another issue...
 
Just installed the latest DX 8.1 into ur system. Will overwrite w/ all the new updates. There is no need to uninstall & re-install again.
