Surface is sooo smooth, but it doesnt look any better than it did! Pics tomarrow 😛 I used the mother's clay bar & detailer.

It isnt about looks. But in fact it does look better than any wax I have seen. Its about PROTECTING

I've seen cars that guys have spent 7 hours applying this stuff to their cars and they don't look any better than my cars after a detail. I use Meguiars paint cleaner (if needed), or clay (I've used it a few times and like the fact that it doesn't remove small amounts of clearcoat), Meguiars professional glaze and follow up with Meguiars yellow wax. I can do all that in a couple hours max and it gives a showroom finish. I wax a couple times a year and do the complete detail maybe once a year.

They had a kit at advance auto parts ... $15 for the bar, detailer to use as lube and some wax. made by mothers

They either didnt do it right, or the paint on the car just really sucks it, because if its a crappy paint job, wax can only do so much to help it.

Clay anyone?

We had the best clay as far as consistency, particle size, etc. bar none. It was used in a low flow contactor system to harbor anerobic bacteria to reduce nitrate nitrogen content of a closed system that was home to captive sharks. The NNR reef tank guys (plenum) were jealous as hell until they saw how much that stuff cost.

Anyways, the stuff was like liquid silk.

Jules, ive never used the stuff, sh!t on two of my cars I have rattle can paint jobs!!!!!! Rust oleum biotch. If I was a street rodder and never drove my car, (boyd coddington and crew) Id use it in a heartbeat, I do agree 50 layers is crazy.

The two nicest finishes here are an 05 buick rainer which i used meguir's polish then carnuaba wax. The other is a 75 scout which I just had painted flat black with 5 coats of flat finish master clear coat. Its hot .

How well does it work on auto body paint?
 
I believe it cost $800 per liter. May have been more but the bill for the amount we needed was pretty tall. Damn was I pissing money into that project! I have no regrets as what I learned is worth much more IMO.
