ClawHammer only for desktops?

Does this mean that they are preparing this for the average consumer thats looking for faster games?,better graphics, and faster FPS?. Is this what AMD is doing to adjust the differences to Intels P4's?. I have no qualms with this at all,I think that if AMD keeps it's market share with desktop users such as myself, and all of you that will be a very good move on there part.

The Hammer series of CPU's willl have several variations. One is for desktops, one is for 1-2 way servers, one for 4 way servers one for 8 way servers I believe.
I think the Clawhammer is the desktop version of the Hammer CPU. This means it is fairly much optimised for the desktop machine, as that's all it will be used for.

I can't find the article at the moment, but there is rumored to be an MP version of the Clawhammer for 2-way systems. Whether that will actually happen or not is anyone's guess....

Clawhammer = Athlon 64 = intended for home users (1 cpu for home users, 2 way for lite workstations)

Sledgehammer = Opteron = intended for servers and workstations ( 1,2,4,8 way systems for workstations and servers)
