Clawhammer: Are XP compliant motherboards going to work?

Just wondering if those of us left on the AMD ship are going to have to have new Motherboards with this chip if we already own an XP ready Motherboard.

Absolutely not, you will need a Socket 754 ClawHammer motherboard when they come out later this year. Your current Socket 462 (Socket A) motherboard will only support Athlons and Durons (K7), but definitely not Hammers (K8).

am I thinking of the right processor even? I thought The 64bit serverchip had all the extra pins. Are there plans for a .13 die size XP then.

This is T'bred and Barton not Clawhammer. The ".13 XP" is these two and they will be the new budget chip when Clawhammer debuts, they will work with Socket A boards if they're supported in the bios upgrade.
