Andy voiced his concerns about children dying. I dont see where he approves of that on either side. When 4 year old girls die at the hands of soldiers, that is tragic. Because they are Palestinian makes it no less true.

That's just BS. I have in no way Condoned that! :| You take my lack of support for an oppressive Israeli regime to be support for a pro-terrorist Palestinian approach! Neither is the right course - but the US can exert influence over Israel to de-escalate.

Sure you did, by implication.

I made reference to the Palestenians using kids and suicide bombers, you referred to gunships and airplanes. Point, counterpoint. You support using kids, suicide bombers, and terrorism, because Israel uses its superior technology. Personally I think both sides are wrong. But the palestinian side is morally corrupt because of its tactics. If you defend the palestinian way of fighting against Israel, which you already have in several posts, then you support using children (they do), suicide bombers (they do) and terrorism (they do).

And why should we have made a fuss? We weren't asking the Afghans to do that. They did it on their own.

Besides, the old "why the US did X atrocity in the past" is played out also. Name one government on the planet free of atrocities first. Can't? OK, now list countries with current human rights abuses/atrocities. Unless you toss in the death penalty (arguably, since it is the rule of law, upheld by the 3 branches of government), we are gonna be pretty far down on the list. Odds are, unless you are from Canada, Switzerland, or Sweden, you don't have a moral leg to stand on to judge the US.

I wasn't saying "the Palestinians arm their children" but that's alright because "the Israeli's have tanks and helicopter gunships".

I was pointing out the fact that your previous response had nothing to do with the morality of America in supporting the current Israeli stance. I wasn't trying to show what "weapons" each side had to balance each other. I was trying to show that if people are worried about Saddam deploying children in a war who then kill and get killed, they should get real interested in sorting out the Israeli/Palestinian problem as this is happening virtually day in day out.

I was stating a fact just as you did - trying to show that although correct (as my comment was also) it didn't add anything to the original point I was making. Maybe I should have instead said something unrelated like "and the Israeli's have a different uniform?" That would have made the point a little clearer.

I'm sorry if there is ambiguity there - but I really didn't want to suggest as you suppose, even if it could read that way - to support Palestinian terrorist action and to condone it by comparing it to the Israeli weapons. Please read my other posts in other threads to see my views more clearly for yourself if you don't believe me.

BTW: I don't see how I have supported Palestinian terrorism in "several posts" ie Hamas? This is different to the legitimate struggle of the Palestinian people. I'm *guessing* most of them want - and IMHO deserve - an independant Palestinian state.

Well, I couldn't agree more - though I would also say that shooting children comes under that "morality" description too. I don't see that morality can be argued (in the wider sense) when the US stands so steadfastly behind such an Israeli regime as exists today.

Kids throw rocks and firebombs....good chance they will get shot. Pick up an AK-47, chances go up even more. If I was in riot gear and they were hucking rocks and firebombs at me, I might not think twice about squeezing off a few rounds.

Become a citizen, and you can. Just like they can in the US. Can an israeli become say, an Egyptian citizen? Didn't think so...
