classified job listings...

So Im looking at getting back to work again, and for various reasons I don't want to go back to where I was working. That being said, I was scrounging (sp?) thru the classifieds and found a couple of things that may be something decent. Its so difficult to tell though, since they are always so vague. Anyways Im curious as to whether or not classifieds are a waste of time or not? Common sense makes me think yea, because any job worth having isn't going to need to advertise in the paper. But my more hopeful side makes me think there is something decent that will give me the flexible schedule Im looking for.

So have any of you had any experience with these? Any tips?

you need a job, they need an employee....how can you go wrong?

Do they need an employee cause their job sucks or is one of those 'scam' jobs?

a lot of companies place ads to get a wide range of applicatns to choose from.

Apply, interview and then decide. Just because you interview and they extend an offer, doesn't mean you must accept.

They're looking for someone.

You're looking for something.

Just use the interview to get your questions answered.

Got my second career job though a vague classified ad.
Worked out well, worked for them for over 5 yrs til I got this job 8 yrs ago.
But I know what you mean, when I was looking a lot of them looked iffy
